Nokia 2 days of battery life

UPDATE 6th February 2018:

HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones, today announced the local pricing and availability of the Nokia 2.

Nokia phones are associated with great battery life. The Nokia 2 takes this to a whole new level. With its two-day battery lifei, the Nokia 2 will keep going long after other smartphones need recharging.

The phone’s impressive 4100mAh battery doesn’t come at the expense of performance. Combining a Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ quadcore Mobile Platform and a 5-inch HD display with the pure, secure and up-to-date AndroidTM experience, the Nokia 2 offers technology that today’s users can depend on, all day every day.

With the Nokia 2, we wanted to replicate the unique Android experience we’ve delivered so far that lives up to the long-lasting battery life so many users expect with Nokia phones. To make this a reality, every component of the Nokia 2—from the display to battery, chipset to system design—has been engineered to draw as little power as possible from the huge battery to give users a long-lasting phone they can rely on.”

Built to last in every way
The Nokia 2 delivers unrivaled durability in design, drawing on all the hallmarks of the Nokia phone heritage of quality, simplicity and reliability. Its sleek frame is precision-machined from a single block of aluminum while the Corning® Gorilla® Glass is complemented by sculpted polycarbonate on the back, delivering both a great feel and sturdy build-quality users expect from a Nokia phone. Premium materials and thoughtful, ergonomic design combine to create a unique model that’s as practical as it is stylish, leaving users free to enjoy an affordable, long-lasting smartphone experience.

Always pure, secure and up-to-date Android
Nokia smartphones always offer a pure, secure and up-to-date Android experience, with incredible features such as Google Assistant but no preinstalls or skins. Launching with Android Nougat and upgradeable to Android Oreo, the Nokia 2 receives monthly security updates to ensure the smartphone is safe and up-to-date.

Freedom to do more
It’s not just about the high-capacity two-day battery. The 5-inch LTPS LCD HD display offers a bright, crisp viewing experience at lower power consumption. The Nokia 2 gives users the freedom to fully immerse in continuous entertainment–from HD videos and crisp, clear photos to favorite songs, social media and web browsing–without worrying about running out of battery.

With an 8MP rear camera featuring automatic scene detection and auto focus, the Nokia 2 delivers fantastic shots every time. Using the 5MP front camera, users can capture any moment from any angle. There will always be extra capacity for all the photos and videos captured with the phone’s dedicated memory card slot and unlimited[i] photo and video uploads to Google Photos.

Available in Pewter Black, and Pewter White variants, the Nokia 2 is priced at a suggested retail price of P5,290 and will be available in MemoXpress stores nationwide, online at and in Nokia stores, kiosks and exhibits nationwide. With an on official on-sale date of Friday 9th February, you can already pre-order today from argomall.

4th December 2018:

HMD Global just announced the Nokia 2 with claims that its battery will last for two days on a single charge. The only up-side to this announcement is the sizeable 4,100mAh battery upgrade. That’s it.

HMD Global, the company responsible for the Nokia re-re-comeback had to downsize everything else to use as little power from the battery as possible. It starts with the 1.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor that will drive the Android Nougat smartphone complete with a 5-inch, 1,280 x 720 resolution LCD. It only sports 1GB RAM and 8GB of on-board storage and, fortunately, supports microSD cards of up to 128GB in its expansion slot.

The down-scaling further delves into the camera territory with an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter.

“Every component of the Nokia 2 — from the display to battery, chipset to system design — has been engineered to draw as little power as possible from the huge battery,” says HMD Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas and that “the specs were intentionally designed to address one of the biggest complaints in the smartphone industry — short battery life.”

The design department did not delve too far away from the unifying design that makes the Nokia a 2017 version of Nokia with a slightly thinker chunk thanks to the extra juice aside from the antenna lines located on the top rather than neatly placed on the sides. It will come in three colors: Pewter/Black, Pewter/White and Copper/Black.

The Nokia 2 is expected to be released at Php 5,499 (estimated based on a relative 99 to 120 USD estimate) so it’s not too bad of a trade-off if you’re focusing on keeping your phone for long periods of time without having to plug in.
The date of release is still not know but we’ll be keeping a weather eye out for the official statement from HMD Global about the Nokia 2.
