Marco Polo Ortigas Manila staycation review

There’s a reason why Forbes Travel Guide granted Marco Polo Ortigas Manila a 5 star rating – one of two first in the Philippines since the award body’s inception in 1958.

It all starts from the entrance with pleasant smiles of the attendant able to send you to where you’re supposed to go. The guidance continues to the elevators that divide the hotel into sections complete with attendant so to get you to the right floor.

It’s just as easy navigating to the lobby located at the 24th floor where you will find the lobby, the Connect lounge, and the Cucina.

Options of smoking or non-smoking rooms are available upon request.

I was then directed to my room with keycard at the ready after confirming my reservation – where at any point of the hotel I was asked if I needed help with my luggage.

Its a standard 5-star room starting from the view that overlooked Ortigas from the Meralco building side easily indicating the usual metro traffic.

There’s comfort every step of the way from the complimentary treats presented upon arrival towards the front desk checking in if everything is in order – an extra mile even for some hotels that claim 5 star ratings. It has even gone to as far as checking up on a request for toiletries.

Beds are comfy as they should be with pillows letting you rest upon clouds with softness. TV placement is comfortable complete with a range of channels up to the foreign networks catering to different nationalities.

Bathrooms are spacious with all the expected toiletries complete down to the hairdryer. There are two options for showering complete with bathtub that, sadly for people with height, will be cramped for those above 152 cm (or 5 feet for those that measure in the old ages.)

There’s more than enough closet space for two that plan on staying for a week complete with ironing board and iron for those that need to be presentable for their business meeting.

Internet is readily available via WiFi or via plugging in the RJ45 in case your device doesn’t support wireless connectivity. The office chair included is comfortable but not too comfortable to make you drowsy.

The indoor pool is heated to a very comfortable temperature for those that need to clock in laps to get a little bit of exercise.

This towering gem at the heart of Ortigas works greatly with all the perks and amenities you might need from a hotel whether for leisure or for business. You can easily expect that all 316 well-appointed, expertly managed guest rooms that has been recognized by Forbes Travel Guide excels in the hospitality industry with true world-class services and accommodation.
