LG Q6 officially lands in the PH on 18th Aug

IF you happen to have fallen in love with the display execution of LG Electronics’ (LG) flagship phone but is on a strict budget, fret no more as the newest smartphone featuring the proprietary Full Vision display is now available in the Philippines. The LG Q6 answers the needs and expectations of discerning millennial customers worldwide without breaking the bank.

It’s simple, create a line that caters to a wider spectrum of consumers that will allow them the same creative tool but have budget in mind. The Q6 is the first model in LG’s new Q series of smartphones focused on a compelling price point and many of the tools initially not available in LG’s line of offerings. Many aspects of the Q6 shares DNA with the beloved G6 – the first LG phone to feature the Full Vision display clad in 18:9 aspect ration for immersive media consumption, that is also focused on keeping the phone easy and comfortable to hold with one hand.

The LG Q6 has a unique 5.5-inch FHD+ Full Vision display, which not only offers good use of space and keeping the bezels to a minimum, but also allows easy multi-tasking since the screen can be divided into two perfectly square windows that are viewable either vertically or horizontally.

The front facing camera also doubles as a security feature with Face Recognition unlock. Simply lift your phone and smile – it will wake your phone. This nifty hands-free feature will require ample lighting, of course, as the camera does not have IR blasters.

The Square Camera Mode, initially offered on the G6, allows for a more creative approach on making two completely different images merge into a concept – a popular feature among social media users and fans.

Budget restraints won’t cover the Q6 in glass like its bigger brother but will now be of 7000 series aluminum with the same rounded corners designed and engineered to be durable.

The LG Q6 was designed with MIL-STD 810G in mind, a standard that tests and measures devices for their reaction to temperature extremes, rain, humidity, sand and dust to determine their suitability for use by the United States military. The battery was subjected to extra harsh testing process, even more demanding than international standards. And to disperse heat most effectively, a thermal pad cooling system is incorporated in the interior, and key components are placed far from one another to minimize internal heating.

“We designed the Q series based on extensive research into what millennials want from their smartphones,” said Jun Yong Won, Vice President of LG Philippines Mobile. “The LG Q6 delivers the key features of our flagship smartphones at an exceptional price that will appeal to young consumers world over.”
