Colour your way forward with Asia Young Designer Award

Nippon Paint declares Asia Young Designer Award 2017 officially open.

The search is on, once more, for Architechture and Interior Design students from the Philippines who will compete in the regional finals next year. 2017 marks the 4th year that the country has been participating in AYDA.

We look forward to seeing more unique visions as entries this year.

Launched back in 2008 in Malaysia, AYDA has become one of the most sought-after and highly anticipated industry award programs that span 14 countries throughout the region.

AYDA is a great opportunity to showcase the innate creative and innovative designs for the future built by the Filipinos for the Filipinos.

This year’s theme: “You for Tomorrow: Future Living, as Envisioned today,” challenges architects and interior design students to become more responsible and responsive towards the idea of aesthetics the includes sustainability and environmental sensitivity.

Since the Philippines first participated back in 2014, AYDA and the contestants has been making a huge positive impact in nurturing ideas both locally and internationally as well as exchange and share ideas amongst cultures.

Last year alone Nippon Paint saw 1,200 Filipino students in both architecture and interior design categories from 27 schools.

“We look forward to even stronger support and participation from our young Filipino students especially in this year’s 10th anniversary of AYDA,” states Nippon Paint Philippines General Manager Michael Francisco.

AYDA is a platform meant to bring the community together as equals that are asked to keep challenging the status quo, to expose today’s young professionals to design trends and to provide mentoring and coaching to allow them forward thinking and design with heart, in line with the theme.

Ultimately,  participants are asked to change the way we live for the better. Just by the entires alone, AYDA has already won in building for the future.

“It is important for us to keep in mind the rapid development of our world. Even as we speak, we face numerous challenges in terms of adapting to our environment and attaining quality of life for all,” says Nippon Paint Group General Manager Gladys Goh.
