In a show of force, Asus called in the media, fans, dealers, and partners to announce the latest line of smartphones under the favorite Taiwanese manufacturer. The refresh to the well-received Zenfone lineup of last year added some unique categories to an already impressive formula. Taking cues from the design language of its predecessors, the Zenfone 4 family is an improvement on the architecture and design of the Zenfone 3.
Dubbed as the Zenfone 4 City, Asus brought forth all the chops and the bang in crafting an experience for those about to discover the latest phones to hit the market.
Focusing on photography, the tagline “We Love Photo” emanated from the stage to the tiny details of the campaign.
“We understand the value of the moments you take in photo form. Asus understands this quite well as the phone has become an instrument in immortalizing memories for you to share and store.” says George Su, Asus Philippine Country Manager.
Asus Zenfone 4 | Zenfone 4 Pro
The announcement started with the Zenfone 4 that features a dual-camera system with a standard 12MP main camera set at f1.8 aperture equipped with the industry-leading Sony IMX362 image sensor with large 1.4μm pixels paired with a secondary camera set at 120° wide-angle which provides a 200% larger view than standard normal smartphone, letting you fit more scenery and people. The experience is taken a notch higher with the Qualcomm Spectra™ 160 image signal processor (ISP), which assures faster and smoother focusing and zooming, as well as photos with better color accuracy.
The upgraded version, the Zenfone 4 Pro, packes in more RAM, the Snapdragon 835 processor, and a 2x zoom lens in place of the wide-angle lens all the while bumping up the technical specifications of the camera on the side of sensors which is geared towards making a better photography experience even in low light.
The Zenfone 4 Pro retails at Php 39,995.00, and will be made available via pre-order by mid-September.
The Zenfone 4, which retails at Php 28,995.00, will come with a JBL Clip 2 portable Bluetooth speaker, a premium Clear Case and ZenPower Slim. Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie | Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro
The selfie-centric version of the flagship phone takes the dual cameras from the back to the front facing shooters with the same wide-angle capabilities. The only difference will be the overall design that swaps out the glass rear panel to a metal meets plastic construction to save on costs. Processing capabilities is also taken down a notch compared to its beefier brothers.
Its a 20MP front facing camera and a 120° wide-angle version to allow selfies and wefies.
The upgraded version adds 4MP to the already great camera system and adds more capabilities in night sensitivity to provide more light in an otherwise dark shot. More processing capabilities can als be seen here with Qualcomm Snapdrgon 625 over the 430 in the Selfie.
The Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro, priced at PHP 18,995.00, is available in three color variants: Rogue Red, Sunlight Gold and Deep Sea Black. The Zenfone 4 Selfie retails at Php 13,995, and comes in three colors: Deep Sea Black, Sunlight Gold and Rose Pink. Purchases for both unit will come with a free limited edition Gong Yoo A4 poster.
Asus Zenfone 4 Max
The budget friendly version of the Zenfone 4, takes all the good things about its beefier brothers and crams 5000mAh of battery into the tiny frame.
Yes, it will have a slower processor, the camera sensors won’t be the same sensitivity to light, and design is the mellowed out version of the last four devices but you will get what you need in the Zenfone 4 Max. The secondary camera packs the 120° wide-angle lens for those scenic shots where previously claustrophobic.
The Zenfone 4 Max retails at Php 9,995.00 only, and comes in 3 color variants: Deep Sea Black, Sunlight Gold and Rose Pink.
