This is the dream. This is probably the thinnest, most powerful laptop to ever land in 2017. Asus x Cmputex presents: The ROG Zephyrus.
Perhaps the most noticeable will be the thin chassis. Remember the beastly, behemoth of a laptop, GX800? Imagine about 3/4 of the power of that device and enlist the help of a hydraulic press to about 1/4 the thickness. That’s the Zephyrus for you.
Difficult to imagine. I know. But the design cues will note some key sacrifices like cooling, for example. Asus has employed an exclusive Active Aerodynamic System (ASS) to cool the Zephyrus that allow airflow over the components in an intelligent way. This has yet to be tested and proven, of course, if the laptop even reaches Philippine shores.
The design moves the keyboard closer to the user with the trackpad moved towards the side. It’s not mechanical and are rather flat to keep the minimalist design. Key travel is adjust but decent and will remain comfortable. It comes back-lit with Asus’ Aura G-Sync feature that can be customized with the pre-installed app.
Asus gets the display right, too, with a 15.6-inch Full HD display clocking in a 120Hz refresh rate complete with Nvidia G-Sync support. This will only mean eye-gasmic playback with pearly-smooth game play. *shivers*
Amid the weight-loss regimen for the Zephyrus, ports include a USB C, foir USB 3.1, HDMI, and a 3.5mm headphone and mic combo-jack.
It is quite something to discover that, crammed in this really really tight space, the included specs are incredibly impressive. it will feature an Intel Core i7 7700HQ chipset paired with an Nvidia GTX 1080 gpu – only just the most powerful graphic card that was reserved for desktops, now flattened to fit the Zephyrus. Included in the foray is up to 24GB of RAM, four M.2 PCI ports for hyper fast SSD storage, and support to cap up to 1TB storage on a standard SSD.
In other words, throw everything at the Zephyrus, including the kitchen sink and your pet dog, the Zephyrus will deliver.
Excited to see this up close? We are too. Stay tuned for updates.
