AsiaPOP Comicon Manila 2017 takes over the weekend

This year’s AsiaPOP Comicon Manila 2017 calls in names from your favorite shows in the country’s biggest event for movies, music, television, gaming, cosplay, you name it!

From 25th to 27th August, SMX Convention Center, Pasay is transformed into an action-packed, awesome-filled three-day convention of so many things that one post will not be enough to cover it.

We can start the list with the annual CAGE cosplay competition with guests such as Alodia Gosingfiao, Myrtle Sarrosa, Pion Kim, Jinbehindinfinity, Canvas Cosplay, and Haiden Hazard towards the hair-raising, shiver-down-the-spine moment when you finally meet DC’s Cyborg in the flesh played by Ray Fisher, Supergirl’s Superman Tyler Hoechlin, and Overwatch’s Gaku Space.

Did we forget to mention Marvel’s super-exclusive and limited showcase, Hall M, is coming back to bring you exclusive content no one else in Asia has seen.

Hall N for Netflix took Stranger Things into their own hands and brought the entire cast – Noah Schnapp, Joe Keery, Darce Montgomery, and Sadie Sink – for a Netflix Panel ( just between us, Netflix will also show the Deathnote screening shortly after. Hush hush.)

Panels on toy designs by Simone Legno, Jason Freeny, and Quiccs; on social media with influencers Cha Ocampo, Janina Vale, and Patrice Averilla; on cosplay with the guests from CAGE; on comics with veterans Artgerm, Carl Potts, Rodney Ramos, and While Portacio.

The second level halls are lined up with workshops with Artgem, Carl Potts, Jin, and professional makeup studio Nyx, and mecha-designer and Macriss saga creator Shoji Kawamori.

If you think the experience stops there, think again! APCC will host game demos, gaming competitions, interactive exhibits, meet-and-greet sessions; and, geek out on merch, toys, shirts, comics, games and just about everything in between!
