It was very fortunate that we were staying in Marco Polo Ortigas Manila when we were invited for wine and tapas at Vu Skybar that day where and when traffic visibly snaked around the metro with red tail lights from the vehicles below as if ants with fireflies on their backs as we enjoyed the view from the 45th floor of the hotel surrounded by tapas and wine glasses ready to be filled and then consumed.
We were the first ones in allowing us to take this shot of the sky lounge often filled with those looking to chill away from the hustle and bustle of the metro specially during rush hour as the Skybar was filled with guests who were obviously there to let the traffic below dissipate.
Marco Polo entitled the selection “Aperitivo” which means an alcoholic beverage consumed before a meal with the intention of stimulating the appetite.
Stimulate our appetites indeed as the selection of anti pasti misto buffet paired with unlimited house white or red wine set the mood for a little bit of the tapas available from the cold cuts, towards the cheeses, humus and couscous among other selections awaiting our plates and forks to settle the meal that will follow shortly after.
Chill is the word with the music selection surrounding the venue complete with a smoking area for those that are looking to complement their drinks and chatter either with co-workers or friends.
The selection comes what is expected of a Forbes Travel Guide 5 star holder with attentive staff and crew expertly assisting the needs of their customers, some of which may have had a few glasses too many but still properly accommodated by attendants.
Aperitivo is open from Monday to Wednesday with their updated a la carte menu and Thursday to Sunday with the anti pasti misto buffet both available from 5PM to 8PM.
Vu Skybar is located that the 45th floor of Marco Polo Ortigas Manila.
